Why was the Foundation Set Up?
In 2015 Tess and the now named ‘Dream Team’ were out in Romania on a Christmas Shoebox mission, over dinner and a few drinks at the end of the trip it was decided there was help needed in these poor rural communities and a shoebox once a year wasn’t enough to help, they knew they could do more, that night the Little Edi Foundation was born, it has grown and continues to grow every year with the help of very dedicated Trustees, Volunteers and friends.
Why The ‘Little Edi’ Foundation?
Ten years ago the Founder and President Tess Giggs when to Romania with a local missionaries from her church to hand out Christmas Shoeboxes to poor families in the village of Gilau, while she was there she was introduced to a family with a very sick little boy called Edi, he had meningitis and the family could not afford to keep him in hospital and he would have to return home. Tess who had suffered with Meningitis herself offered to sponsor the family and pay their medical fees to help save Edi’s life. This sponsorship continues today and Edi now is in education a flourishing in life like any normal little boy.
